#98 Stephen Malkmus & the Jicks - "Lariat"

What is a Top 100 without some contribution from Stephen Malkmus?? The former Pavement frontman is still going strong and still naming his records totally awesome things like "Wig Out at Jagbags". 


“Lariat” is a classic Malkmus like track with lyrical references to the Grateful Dead and Mudhoney. Malkmus later proclaims “We grew up listening to the music from the best decade ever, talking bout the ADDs” (or I suppose the 80s)

Though Lariat was technically out in the waning weeks of December, it gets a nod for 2014 as it got all the way up to number 8 on the weekly Top 100.
