#69 Milky Chance - "Stolen Dance"

What can we say about Milky Chance that their name doesn’t already say? Not only does the German duo win the 2014 award for silliest name, they also win the award for Best Song Title that Rhymes With Artist’s Name.

“Stolen Dance” is more than just a song that rhymes with a silly band name. It came on my radar this June but I was even late to the party. The song was already quite popular in Europe and abroad, hitting number 1 in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Ireland and France. It also eventually made it to number 1 on Billboard’s Adult Alternative, Rock Airplay and Alternative charts. It even cracked the Mainstream Top 40 (number 35) as well as the Canadian Hot 100 of the year 2014, where it was number 36. It didn’t make it that high here but needless to say this is the most globally popular song on the list.

I like it a lot too. It’s got that really catchy ever repeating minimal sounding beat and although his voice could be that of Eagle Eye Cherry’s, it’s a song that immediately sticks out as one of the best tracks of the year.
Final Note:  Milky Chance is one of 9 artists in this year's top 100 that only have one song, not just in the Top 100 but in the entire Top 500.  We've already heard 5 of these bands in MIA, Chromeo, Avey Tare' Slasher Flicks, Thom Yorke and Kero Kero Bonito.  That means there are 3 left.

Any Guesses?
