#82 Aphex Twin - "Minipops 67 (120.2 Source Field Mix)"

Probably one of the most unexpected things to happen in music this year was a return from UK techno producer Aphex Twin and he did so in a very unique way. Back in August, a blimp with the Aphex Twin logo flew around the skies of London for an afternoon.  Speculation swirled and soon after the new record was announced, released and the first single “Minipops 67” hit the airwaves.

Minipops is a solid Aphex Twin track in my opinion; danceable funky techno that has the feel of real instruments at times and electronic beats at others. AT stands apart from most of the field when it comes to this sort of techno/electronic music.  I haven’t had a listen to the whole album yet though. Enjoy this funky shit though.
