#71 Parquet Courts - "Instant Disassembly"

Parquet Courts, or as they have been calling themselves lately Parkay Quartz, are a good old NYC indie rock band...plain and simple. They formed just 4 years back and are signed to Rough Trade records (also home to Decemberists, Belle & Sebastian and My Morning Jacket).  But despite being a pretty young band the Courts have released a few full length records.

Their record "Light Up Gold" turned me onto them with songs like "Borrowed Time" and "Stoned and Starving"  In fact, just last year Parquet Courts had 2 Top 100 of the Year songs (with the 2 aforementioned songs).  This year Parquet Courts also has 2 songs in the Top 100, making them one of 4 bands to have 2 Top 100 songs of 2013 and 2 Top 100 songs of 2014.  The other bands are Arcade Fire, Chvrches and Alt-J.
